Farever Console Release

Will Farever come to Xbox, PS5 or Switch? Crossplay, cross-progression and platform-by-platform status.

Current Status · May 2026

PC-only — No console version announced

Farever is currently Steam-exclusive on PC. Shiro Games has not announced Xbox, PS5 or Switch versions. Their past games (Wartales, Northgard) reached console after 1.0, so a console port is plausible but not confirmed.

PC (Steam)
Available now
Released into Early Access on May 7, 2026. Full controller support.
Xbox Series X|S
Not announced
Shiro Games has shipped console ports of Wartales before. An Xbox port is plausible post-1.0 but not confirmed.
PlayStation 5
Not announced
Same as Xbox — plausible after 1.0 but no announcement. Wartales has a PS5 version which is the precedent.
Nintendo Switch
Unlikely
Farever's online-only architecture and texture streaming make Switch (or Switch 2) ports difficult. No comment from Shiro Games.
Steam Deck
Playable
Valve's "Playable" rating (not yet Verified). See our Steam Deck guide for settings.
Cloud (GeForce Now / xCloud)
Not on Day-1
Standard Steam library titles eventually land on GeForce Now if the publisher opts in. No confirmation yet.

What Shiro Games has said about Farever on console

Nothing official. In the EA roadmap published with the Steam release on May 7, 2026, the studio focused entirely on PC content: new regions, level cap raise, balance patches, localisation. Console was not mentioned.

In a community post on Discord (#announcements), a Shiro Games developer answered a console question with: “We are focused on PC right now. We have done console ports before, so the door is not closed for the future.” That is the strongest signal we have.

Shiro Games console precedent

Wartales launched on PC in 2021 and came to Xbox Series X|S + PS5 in 2023 — roughly 18 months after PC 1.0. If Farever follows the same pattern, a console version could land in late 2027 or 2028, ~12-18 months after the projected mid-2027 PC 1.0 release. Northgard is on every major platform (Xbox, PS, Switch, mobile) but took several years to fully port.

Crossplay & cross-progression

No commitment. Wartales does not have crossplay between PC and console. Farever's server architecture (always-online, server-side save data) actually makes cross-progression simpler than Wartales — but Shiro Games would need to opt in. Treat any crossplay rumour as unconfirmed unless it comes from the official Discord or Steam News tab.

FAQ — Farever on console

Is Farever coming to Xbox?

Not announced. Shiro Games has a history of porting their RPGs to console (Wartales is on Xbox Series X|S) so an Xbox port post-1.0 is plausible, but there is no official announcement as of May 2026.

Is Farever coming to PS5?

Not announced. Same situation as Xbox — Shiro Games has published console versions of past games but has made no Farever-specific PS5 commitment.

Will Farever come to Nintendo Switch?

Unlikely on the current Switch hardware. Farever's online-only architecture and asset streaming would struggle on Switch. A Switch 2 port is theoretically possible but not announced.

Does Farever have crossplay?

Not applicable yet — Farever is PC-only on Steam. If consoles release later, Shiro Games has not committed to crossplay. Wartales does not have crossplay either, so the precedent is mixed.

Will my PC save transfer to console?

Cross-progression has not been announced. Shiro Games would have to build it from scratch since Farever is online-only and save data lives server-side.

Can I play Farever on Steam Deck?

Yes. Farever has Valve's "Playable" rating. See our /steam-deck/ guide for the best settings (Medium preset, 30 FPS cap, ~3 hours battery life).

Can I stream Farever via GeForce Now?

Not on Day-1. NVIDIA needs the publisher to opt in. Most Steam-published games eventually land on GeForce Now within 6–12 months of launch, but there is no Farever-specific commitment.

When would a Farever console port arrive?

If it happens, expect it post-1.0 (currently estimated mid-2027). Shiro Games typically focuses on PC during Early Access and ports after the 1.0 release lands. This is speculative.
