Does Farever Have PvP?

Current Status
No PvP in Farever — PvE co-op only
Farever has zero PvP content in the May 2026 Early Access build. No duels, no arenas, no open-world flagging, no battlegrounds. Shiro Games has said PvP is “not a priority during EA.”

Will Shiro Games add PvP to Farever later?
Possibly, but it is not on the public Early Access roadmap. In a Discord community Q&A, a Shiro Games dev said: “PvP is not a priority during EA. We want to nail the PvE co-op experience first. We are not ruling it out for later but it is not in the current plan.”
Historically, MMO and online-RPG studios that try to bolt PvP onto a PvE-first system run into balance pain. Shiro Games knows this — Wartales is also PvE-only and has stayed that way through 1.0 + DLC.
What replaces PvP if you want competition?
- Speedrun dungeon clears — community trackers compare best clear times per class
- World boss DPS race — Crabgantua spawns roughly every 90 minutes and contribution-based loot rewards top-damage players
- Achievement hunting — completionist achievements function as a soft leaderboard
- Marketplace economy — flipping mats and crafted goods is a viable mini-game for traders
Comparison: Farever vs MMOs with PvP
If PvP is essential to you, Farever is not the right pick. Look at New World, Albion Onlineor Throne and Liberty for open-world PvP. Path of Exile 2 and Diablo 4 have small PvP zones if you want incidental PvP in a PvE-first game. Farever is best compared to Wartales: systems-rich, co-op, completely PvE.

Will Farever ever add PvP?

Can I duel another player in Farever?
No. There is no /duel command, no consensual PvP toggle, no arena. Even sparring NPCs do not exist as a PvP stand-in. The combat system is single-aggro PvE only.
Is there an arena or battleground in Farever?
No. The closest thing is the Crabgantua world boss, which is shared with other players in the open world — but it is PvE cooperation, not PvP competition.
Why does Farever have no PvP?
Two reasons: (1) Shiro Games is a small studio and balanced PvE + PvP is hard; Wartales also focuses on PvE. (2) Farever's weapon-driven skill system is hard to balance across PvP without major changes. A balance split between PvE and PvP rulesets is a lot of dev work.
What about ranked or competitive modes?
No ranked or competitive modes exist. The only "leaderboard-like" content is the daily bounty board and dungeon clear-time tracking, which is per-character not server-wide.
Will my Farever PvE build work in PvP?
Hypothetical, but historically PvE → PvP balance is bad in every MMO that adds PvP late. If Farever does add PvP post-1.0, expect Shiro Games to either split builds (PvE / PvP rulesets) or rebalance everything.
Is there any player-vs-player interaction in Farever?
Indirectly: shared world bosses, marketplace trading, and party finding. There is no direct combat between players in the EA build.
