Farever Hidden Critter Quest
Six stages, six critters, one rare Glow-bug companion + Heartwood Longbow recipe at the end.
What is the Hidden Critter quest?
A six-stage night-cycle quest line that takes you across every major biome to catch progressively rarer critters. The final reward is the Glow-bug companion (S-tier) and a Heartwood Longbow Carpenter recipe — the meta endgame Ranger weapon.
Quest start: Wanderer NPC under the Skyover windmill, after 8 pm in-game time. You must already have unlocked the companion slot via the Catch a Companion tutorial.
All hidden critter locations
| # | Critter | Biome | Coordinates | Hint |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Buzzwing (Skyover Meadow) | Skyover Meadow | NE of fountain, behind windmill | Search the long grass after dusk — the wings glow blue. |
| 2 | Cave Ladybug | SECRET Cave (south) | South of Skyover, vine-covered crack | Talk to the Wanderer NPC for the cave coordinates first. |
| 3 | Firefly Swarm | Russet Hollow | Inside the rotting log east of waypoint | Night cycle only — the swarm despawns at sunrise. |
| 4 | Aether Moth | Wraithwind Spire | On the broken bridge before the boss | Skip the dungeon route — climb the cliff to the bridge directly. |
| 5 | Goldleaf Beetle (ring) | Goldleaf Sanctum | Hidden room behind the second altar | Strike both side gongs simultaneously — wall opens for 5 seconds. |
| 6 | Glow-bug (final) | Heart of Autumn | Center of the burning grove at midnight | Only spawns during a Heart of Autumn dungeon run — kill the boss first. |

FAQ — Farever Hidden Critter quest
How do I start the Farever Hidden Critter quest?
Complete the Skyover "Catch a Companion" tutorial, then talk to the Wanderer NPC under the windmill at night (after 8pm in-game time). She offers the Hidden Critter quest line — six critters to find across Skyover and Autumn biomes.
Where is the SECRET Ladybug Cave in Farever?
South of Skyover town. Follow the river south past the bridge — the cave entrance is a vine-covered crack in the rock wall on the right side. The Wanderer NPC marks it on your map after stage 1 of the quest line.
How many hidden critters are in Farever?
Six in the May 2026 EA build: Buzzwing, Cave Ladybug, Firefly Swarm, Aether Moth, Goldleaf Beetle, and the final Glow-bug. You catch them in order — each gates the next.
Hidden Critter quest rewards?
Each stage gives a Critter Net upgrade (faster catch). Completing all six unlocks the Glow-bug companion AND a Carpenter recipe scroll: Heartwood Longbow — the S-tier Ranger weapon.
How long does the Hidden Critter quest take?
About 4–6 hours solo. The Aether Moth (stage 4) and Glow-bug (stage 6) are the bottlenecks because they gate on dungeon clears.
Can the Hidden Critter quest fail or expire?
No. The quest persists across logouts and you can pause it indefinitely. The night-cycle stages (3, 4, 6) will simply wait until the in-game clock matches.
Hidden Critter quest in co-op?
Yes. Each player must catch their own critter at each stage, but you can stack the stages together. Recommended for stages 4–6 which have dangerous biomes.
