Priority 1 — Main Quest

The Farever main quest grants ~50% of total XP on the path to cap. Always have it active. Side quests are XP-positive but only after the main quest has stalled.

Priority 2 — Dungeon First-Clears

First clear of each dungeon grants a 2x XP bonus. Run every dungeon at least once before re-running anything. Eight dungeons in EA = 8 first-clear bonuses.

Priority 3 — Bounty Board

Daily bounty board grants +20% rested XP buff for 30 min. Free, repeatable, stacks with inn-rest. Always check the board first thing each session.

Best class for power-leveling

Ranger is the fastest solo class to cap. Pet tank + bow + traps = no downtime between fights. Warrior is second-fastest thanks to survivability. Mystic is third (slower clears but no deaths). Mageis the slowest solo class — fragile early levels mean you die and lose time. Mage is faster in groups.

Dungeon vs quest XP — what to prioritise

Quest XP per hour: ~22,000. Dungeon XP per hour (first clear): ~45,000. Dungeon XP per hour (re-run): ~28,000. Open-world grinding: ~12,000. Always preference: main quest → dungeon first-clear → side quests → re-run dungeons → grinding. Hard mode at level 25 unlocks the highest XP-per-hour rate (~55,000).

Co-op leveling speed

Groups gain a +10% XP per extra player bonus (capped at 4 players = +30%). Combined with faster clear times, a 4-stack hits cap in ~22 hours vs ~30 hours solo. Drop-in friends count from the moment they join.

Common Farever leveling mistakes

  • Grinding open-world mobs — 3x slower than dungeons
  • Skipping the inn rest — free +20% XP, no excuse to skip
  • Over-leveling content — content scales 5 levels below you, so over-leveling only marginally helps
  • Ignoring weapon mastery — mastery XP comes from kills, so swap weapons strategically
  • Not running hard mode at 25 — best XP-per-hour in the game

FAQ — Farever leveling

What is the fastest way to level in Farever?

Main story → first dungeon clear on every dungeon → daily bounty board. Avoid open-world mob grinding; XP rate is ~3x lower than dungeon clears. Total estimate: 25–35 hours to level cap (currently 30).

Best class for fast leveling in Farever?

Ranger — pet tank handles aggro, bow keeps you safe, zero downtime between fights. Warrior is second-fastest (high survivability). Mage is the slowest solo because of fragile early levels.

What is the Farever level cap?

Level 30 in the May 2026 Early Access patch. Shiro Games has stated this rises to 40 with the first major content patch (Autumn expansion) and to 50 by 1.0 release.

Does Farever have a rested XP system?

Yes. Sleeping at an inn (free) grants a +20% XP buff for the next 30 minutes of play. Stacks with the daily bounty board buff for ~+40% combined.

Is grinding mobs in Farever worth it?

No. Open-world mob XP is roughly 1/3 of dungeon clear XP per hour. Always prefer dungeons. The only exception is the Skyover bandit south-coast loop which is good for early gold + mats while you wait for dungeon cooldowns.

Can I level up by crafting?

Profession crafting gives profession XP, not character XP. Your character level only rises from combat XP, quest completions and bounty boards. Crafting is a separate progression track.

How fast can I hit max level in Farever?

Speedrunners are reporting ~22 hours by skipping all side content and focusing on main quest + dungeon first-clears. Casual players take 35–50 hours. The "intended" pace is roughly 30 hours.

What happens after I hit max level?

Weapon mastery (each weapon levels independently to 20) · Talent tree completion (40 points to fully fill one tree) · Endgame dungeons + hard mode · World boss rotation. No infinite paragon-style grind.
