Farever Salvage Guide

Salvage is the crafting-economy backbone of Farever. Breaking down unwanted gear gives you the mats to craft and upgrade the gear you actually want. Most beginner players ignore it for too long.

Where to find the salvage bench

Every town hub has one next to the blacksmith. The first one is in Skyover town, ~10 metres east of the stable-master. The Autumn town bench is in the south district near the inn.

How to salvage gear

Open the salvage UI (default: hold E at the bench) → drag any unequipped weapon or armour piece into the slot → confirm. Each item returns 1–4 mats based on its rarity. Bound gear (quest rewards marked "soulbound") cannot be salvaged.

What to salvage and what to keep

Salvage: all white and green drops above your current level by 3+. Keep: all blue and purple drops (they are the upgrade currency for your endgame gear). Always check the mastery bonus before salvaging — some white drops carry a rare mastery skill that is worth keeping.

Best mats and where they come from

Steel scrap (any iron weapon, abundant) · Aether dust (any magic-school weapon, moderate) · Beast hide (any leather armour) · Ember shard (only from fire-element gear, rare). Ember shard is the bottleneck mat for endgame upgrades — hoard them.

Salvage vs vendor sell

Salvage almost every time. Vendor gold is plentiful in EA; mats are the constraint. Only sell-to-vendor if you are mat-capped (max 999 of a single mat) and need pocket gold for a vendor weapon you actually want.
