Farever is best described as an online co-op action RPG with MMO elements. It is not a traditional persistent-world MMO like WoW or FFXIV.
MMO-like features
Persistent character progression, weapon-skill mastery, crafting professions, dungeons, factions, planned guilds and seasonal content.
Not-MMO features
Instanced overworld, small parties (max ~4), no megaserver shards, no PvP at launch, no raid-tier 20-player content yet.
Closer comparison
Diablo IV / Lost Ark style instanced co-op rather than WoW open world.
